It's that time of year again- time to start gathering tax and financial information, and making your appointment to have your taxes done.

We suggest that you take some time in advance to pull together all of your relevent information (in other words, dig out those shoe boxes full of receipts and everything else you have lurking in the closet!) and organize everything into one centralized, easy to navigate place. Also, go through and start a sheet listing all your expenses and deductions for the year, and make sure you have the associated documentation handy.

Please make sure that you bring the following with you to your appointment:

• All W-2 forms for the year
• All 1099 forms
• Medical receipts
• Receipts for charitable contributions
• Mileage statements
• Form 5498 (IRA contribution sheet)
• Account statements (Interest earning accounts, etc.)
• Mortgage interest statements

A little time spent up front can save a lot of headaches later on...
